A day in the life…

Partner with the Divisional Merchandise Manager and Merchandise Director to define seasonal, annual and multi-year strategies that identify future opportunities and trends and produce competitive advantage and superior results

Foster a comprehensive understanding of how the customer strategy translates to both financial and assortment plans
-
Set the buy planning calendar and direct the timely creation, review, re-projection and execution of plans
-
Effectively balance objective information with subjective inputs to give guidance for merchandising teams
-
Partner with financial managers to develop executable financial plans at channel
-
Approve quantification of the buy, ensuring assortment planners create compelling assortment plans that realize the merchandise strategy
-
Ensure execution of strategies within the boundaries of financial plans
-
Act as a change leader to support company initiatives and ensure adoption by merchandising team
-
Identify and develop future merchant leaders to become superior partners in planning assortments and managers of their business
You own this if you have…
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a multichannel/omni-channel retail merchandise Planner or equivalent role required
-
Experience as a retail merchandise Planner required
-
Experience managing and supporting a high sales volume category (high SKU count, heavy seasonality, high revenue ($150M+) preferred
-
Experience in a relevant merchandise category preferred
-
Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom required
-
Proficiency in MS Office suite required
-
Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $126,500-$210,000 Annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
