Our current Team is made up of accountants (CPA’s), financial advisors, an investment manager (CFA), a loan officer and a health insurance specialist. Our accountants are not required to track their time like most traditional accounting firms; instead we measure their effectiveness in providing value for our customers and delivering solutions that are congruent with our customers’ goals. Our customer base consists of affluent individuals and small businesses primarily in professional services.
Job Description
MFS is looking for a self-motivated and goal-driven individual with 5 years minimum public accounting experience to help develop our accounting and tax services. The individual will be responsible for various accounting and tax aspects of the company, including managing the relationships of business and individual customers.
The individual will prepare and review projects pertaining to tax compliance, accounting and tax planning. Success in the position relies heavily on collaboration with the other Team Members in order to identify solutions related to tax management strategies, financial planning opportunities, investment planning, insurance needs and lending solutions. Additionally, this individual is expected to share their knowledge and expertise and assist in the coaching, training and development of other Team Members. Management of the customer relationship is at the core of being successful in this position!
It is possible that this position has flextime, compressed work week, and remote working.
Primary Responsibilities
· Preparation and review of business, trust and personal income tax returns
· Preparation and review of accounting engagements
· Participation in customer meetings
· Manage relationships of both business and individual customers
· Identify customer opportunities and perform the analysis to develop value-driven solutions
· Minimal tax audit and representation
· Work with Director of Practice Management to ensure that all projects are being completed as planned, including the scheduling of the projects and customer meetings
Desired Skills
· Knowledge of all forms of tax compliance, as well as tax planning skills for individuals, trusts and small businesses
· Experience using the Thomson Reuters Professional Suite software programs and BNA Income Tax Planner is a plus
· Demonstrated use and experience of Value Pricing
· Strong written and verbal skills are required
Qualifications
· This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
· This position requires a CPA certificate
· The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience
· Must be able to embrace technology
· The candidate must have good credit
