POSITION TITLE: OSHA Compliance Fit Tester, Full or Part-Time
This position will be on site working in various Sentara hospitals.
3-4 day work week.
May have travel of overnight stays 2-4 times per month
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide quantitative Fit Testing using specialized equipment to evaluate the fit of a respirator on individuals who are at risk to exposure to known airborne or unknown pathogens and/or hazardous materials for their work function.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Function and duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Performs Quantitative fit testing at various safe hospital sites throughout the Hampton Roads, VA area
· Validate medical and training qualifications of individual prior to fit testing them and resolve discrepancies by interfacing with the Respiratory Protection Program Administrator, Medical and Training Departments
· Answers any questions or concerns about respirator use, care of the Respirator.
· Manages fit testing schedules and onsite coordination, ensuring accurate records and testing in compliance with OSHA standards
· Ensures the equipment is properly maintained and operational as per training and manufacturers specification
· Transports equipment to scheduled fit testing site as per predetermined schedule.
· Prepares fit testing process including the equipment set-up and take down, ensure Fit Testing Unit is calibrated at the start of each day in accordance with manufacturers specification
· Maintain off-site calibrations of equipment, monitor and track calibration dates of equipment, interface with Maintenance and Test Equipment Coordinator (M&TE) for return of equipment to vendor
· Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports for the purpose of invoicing and reporting of services
· Perform daily QC checks of Fit Testing equipment
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Minimum High School Diploma.
Some College preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
· Strong computer skills.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state in which you reside
- Must have a good driving record
DUI or drug convictions are not acceptable for this position.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· Previous related experience preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS
· Travel will be required throughout Hampton Roads, may require travel to other areas of VA.
· Require a road worthy vehicle, a valid driver’s license and liability insurance.

This is an entry level position and will be working in a safe area with professional medical personnel to train them in the proper use of face respirators. There is room for advancement.
