Job Description
Assistant Gym Manager/Lead instructor
Looking for an enthusiastic, energetic individual that wants to work with kids and is looking for a fun work environment to be part of. We are looking for someone that can join the team and be a leader in a positive, collaborative, and engaging manner for staff and students. Coaching experience with kids is a plus but not required and on the job training is provided.
Lesson Planning
Create a weekly lesson plan for all classes 2 1/2 -4yr olds, 4-6 yr olds, 6-8 yr olds, 9-13yr olds, and Teen classes. Beginner, advanced, elite and team classes.
Scheduling
Create and maintain schedule for staff to ensure adequate coverage for classes, parties and camps.
Training and Supervising Coaches
Lead a new coach through the entire train the trainer program
Supervise current coaches.
Identify areas of training that need more attention.
Phone Messages/Email s
Respond to phone messages and emails regarding classes, camps and parties.
Data entry
Process new students billing, retail sales, roster/class management, keep skill assessments up to date
Interaction with Parents
Appropriately interact with a parents regarding leveling up, individual accomplishments, class changes, and behavioral issues.
Classes
Gym set-up: Set up the gym appropriately for the age of the class following all safety guidelines.
Enforce gym policies: Know the gym policies and enforces them with students, including dress code, behavioral protocol, injury protocol, and food/drink rules .
Class warm-ups: Lead an engaging 15 minute dynamic warm up and static stretch.
Coach 1-8 students: Take a group through the lesson plan (provided by lead instructor). Keep the athletes safe, interested, motivated and challenged.
Access levels: Know how to reference the assessment sheet to assess levels to the USA Ninja Challenge standard.
Update charts: Update students’ skill levels by using the skill assessment system. Keep records up-to-date.
Interact with parents: Interact positively with parents. Be able to communicate a child’s success in class to the parent.
Facility
End of day cleaning: Ensure all tasks on the nightly and weekly cleaning checklist are completed by staff or self
Perform all opening and closing procedures.
Lock up the gym: Turn off heat/AC and lights ensure that all doors are locked.
Parties
Gym set-up: Set the gym up for the age of the party guests and following all safety guidelines.
Lobby set-up: Organize the lobby with tables and chairs adequate for the party size.
Sign in/Greeting: Greets guests and have each parent sign a waiver upon arrival or receive a waiver (filled out ahead of time) from each guest.
Party structure: Follow the party structure in an engaging manner.
Assist during lobby time: During the lobby (cake and present) time, the instructor provides assistance to the family as needed.
Hours per week:
- 30-40 hrs Hours and days may vary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
