General Summary and Purpose:
The Procurement Manager oversees purchasing of BioLife materials and services to support production
schedule. This position will also be responsible for BioLife’s critical suppliers/CMO base by keeping in close
relationship to resolve lead-time, cost, and supplier manufacturing issues. In addition, this position will be
responsible for assessing supplier risks and leading projects to mitigate risk including re-sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees purchasing/buying to ensure materials/products are purchased and received to meet
production schedules.
- Keep in close relationship with BioLife’s critical suppliers and CMOs to ensure timely product delivery.
- Executes production schedule at critical suppliers/CMO’s to ensure inventory is on-hand based on
defined production schedule from Master Scheduler.
- Ensures suppliers are adhering to contractual terms (e.g. manufacturing agreements, quality
agreements).
- Drive resolution for all supplier issues that arise, including production delays, manufacturing
deviations/issues, pricing issues, agreement adherence by collaborating with internal departments to
determine resolution plan.
- Manages supplier relationships within each product family through intimate knowledge of the suppliers’
management team, facilities, capabilities and performance.
- Leads and manages supplier sourcing, resourcing, capacity expansion, and cost reduction projects by
working with Operations, Engineering, Quality and other departments to understand project scope and
requirements.
- Maintains expert knowledge of assigned product/supplies including industry trends, economic factors,
supply chain security issues and key suppliers within each commodity.
- Collaborates with Quality organization on supplier quality programs and quality monitoring including
problem solving at supplier sites.
- Manages component pricing from suppliers.
- Assesses and provides performance feedback to suppliers.
- Leads contract negotiations with critical suppliers/CMO’s with collaboration with Manufacturing and
other key internal stakeholders.
- Provides input and assists in systems implementation (e QMS, ERP, PDM etc.) as needed.

Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills including some technical writing and spreadsheet management.
- Strong technical expertise to successfully resolve production related issues at CMO’s/critical suppliers.
- Able to communicate in person and via email clearly, concisely, and polite
- Experienced and savvy negotiator, focused on building win-win relationships with key supply partners.
- Must be comfortable leading project teams including Biolife Team members and supplier
representatives.
- Ability to collect, analyze and synthesize large commodity-based data sets. May require merging
information from multiple sources.
- Detail-oriented with a demonstrated commitment to zero error tolerance and continuous quality
improvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust workload based on changing
priorities.
- Must be able to perform all operations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform accurate and timely transactions within cloud based, paper based, and computer-based
systems.
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and must be able to life a minimum of
50lbs.
Job Specifications:
Education Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- APICS/CPIM qualification is desirable but not essential

The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $107,609 – 172,175. per year. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks. Individual pay within a level is determined by work location (including geographic pay zone region), job related skills, experience, education, and training.
