Senior Application Support Engineer
Salary: $97,000 - $115,000 Annually

Remote options: Onsite 3 days per week and remote 2 days per week

Please note: This is NOT a desktop/help desk/service desk, or systems administrator role. Applicants MUST have specific software development and application support experience that aligns with the qualifications and responsibilities below. This position’s responsibilities will be about 80% focused on application support and 20% focused on application development.
Job Summary
Responsible for analyzing the needs of our customers and designs, develops, tests, installs, and integrates software systems to meet business needs. Configures and customizes both on-premise and SaaS applications. Recommends software upgrades to existing systems and presents newly available options that may better meet the needs of the organization. Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of systems and troubleshooting any issues that surface.
Minimum Qualifications/Special Requirements/Success Factors
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field
· 3 years of experience in development, design, implementation, and application support including experience in .NET Framework, C#, SQL, and other programming languages such as Python, and JavaScript
· Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
· Agile methodology
· Work effectively with users, technical personnel, and consultants to achieve stated objectives
· Experience with integrating 3rd party and in-house applications into ERP Systems or Asset Tracking Software

Job Responsibilities
· Document requirements and specifications Conduct research, evaluate user needs and system capability, and design appropriate plans and programs
· Maintains and improves existing codebases and peer reviews code changes.
· Creates fault-tolerant programming and thorough Quality Control processes.
· Writes test scripts for both existing and developed code to ensure compatibility and stability.
· Integrates multiple systems utilizing different communication protocols and gateways. Develops or consumes APIs as necessary.
· Deploys and manages systems in both on premise and cloud hosted environments.
· Enhances applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations, designing, developing, and implementing systems.
· Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
· Plans and implements systems automation as required for better efficiency.
· Evaluates systems and provides technical direction.
· Collaborates with other professionals to ensure high quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures.
· Develops and maintains documentation for supported applications, processes, and developed code.
· Complies with project plans and industry standards.
· Participates in change control process. Completes change requests. Coordinates work with City departments and within the Innovation & Technology department.
· Provided on-call support during non-business hours.
