This position is responsible for designing, promoting, conducting, implementing, and delivering various internal training and development programs for the Department of Transportation staff and leadership. This includes new colleague orientation, on-going colleague connections, leadership/employee development, supervisory development, facilitation, storytelling, etc. The position evaluates training programs and makes changes for improvement and to reflect agency needs and priorities.
The position leads training and facilitation efforts for assigned programs. The position partners with other members of the Office of Workforce Development and/or across the department in the delivery of programs.
The position also serves as the agency administrator of the WisDOT LearnCenter – the online learning management system (Cornerstone) housed in STAR/PeopleSoft. The position partners with the Bureau of Training and Development (in the Department of Administration/Division of Personnel Management) in learning about Cornerstone updates, publishing abilities, running training completion reports, etc. The position serves as the main contact for other division-level administrators within WisDOT who have limited functionality and capabilities in the system.
The position regularly exercises great discretion through independent decision-making and problem resolution, frequently as a program/project manager, facilitator, trainer/speaker and leader.
