Overview:
The Brokerage Specialist at GET Freight’s plays a crucial role in overseeing and developing the asset light side of the business. This position works closely with various teams to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient transport of cargo while adhering to customer requirements. The Brokerage Specialist is responsible for overseeing subhauler vetting, operations, sales, and coordination with GET Freight on any load requests that cannot be moved on GET Freight assets. Additionally, the Brokerage Specialist assists in implementing corrective measures for safety concerns, reports revenue regularly, and supports the COO in major operational projects.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Execution
- Subhauler Support
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the brokerage operations to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate shipping costs and other accessorial charges.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with our business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and timely delivery of cargo.
- Monitor and manage operational costs to ensure profitability.
- Analyze operational performance and implement necessary improvements.
- Business Development and Customer Experience
- Vette sub hauler setup / validation they meet GET Freight’s requirements for all aspects of the business and insurance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop subhaulers.
- Dispatch loads, communicate with subhaulers, track loads and complete required invoicing and billing documents.
- Address after-hours calls regarding customer or subhauler concerns or issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Set up new users in Turvo, / GET Freight’s Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Generate reports on daily metrics.
- Support leadership with major operational projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business and logistics preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Drayage, Intermodal and trucking supply chain management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive change and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
