We currently have an opening within our Community Service Agency Day Program a Peer Recovery Specialist that qualifies as a BHT and who can provide required "clinical" supervision to our paraprofessional Peer Support workforce. The individual that would qualify for this position has 5 plus years working as Peer Recovery Specialist, has completed supervision of Peer Recovery support training and has at least 2 years of prior experience in a supervisory role. This position functions separate from any program operating roles in that the sole responsibility of this individual is to provide one to one and or group supervision to our peers that provide direct service. Supervision topics to a team of 15 plus paraprofessionals and bhts includes but is not limited to promotion of recovery, addressing challenges and and finding solutions, Information & referral, Crisis intervention, Decision making, High Risk issues, Communication skills, Time management, Judgement, Professionalism, Self -awareness, Flexibility, Conflict resolution , problem solving, Legal and ethical issues, Boundaries, Documentation , quality, content and meeting standards, sharing of personal story or shared experience. Critical event processing , incidents or significant events, Accountability, Group/ class materials and facilitation skills, Practice/intervention skills/ approach, Connection and interaction with participants, Attitude , fostering positive environment, Self-monitoring of compassion fatigue, burnout and impairment, Understanding or addressing participant or family’s unique needs, Development of strengths-based/recovery oriented services, Enhancement of personal/professional development / training needs. 'Clinical" Supervisors will be required to verify SAMHSA's core competencies for peer recovery specialists as an part of orientation and new hire process. Administrative supervision is completed by Program Directors who are responsible for annual reviews, attendance, addressing work performance and other employment related issues. This role is mentors, coaches, guides interactions and provides "clinical" supervision to enhance service delivery and the direct care providers skills and competencies. "Clinical supervision " takes place no less than one hour for every 80 hours worked and at least 2 times per month. This role is responsible to schedule, track, record , document and report all supervisory sessions. Clinical Supervisor also provides support and guidance to assist Peer Recovery Specialists in addressing crisis or behavioral health emergencies. Applicants must meet the following qualifications/requirements:
Must be credentialed as a Peer Recovery Specialist in Arizona
Must be 21 years or older.
Pass a drug, TB, and background screen.
Must have the ability to exercise professional boundaries and ethics.
Must have ability to type or document services in fast and efficient manner using our Electronic Health Record.
Candidates with extended and solid recovery will be given preference. Candidates must be able to manage the stress and demands of working in the helping profession, with understanding our job is to provide support to those seeking our services.
Must be reliable and able to attend work consistently. As a service provider regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position and directly impacts a person’s confidence and sense of safety in the programs offered by CHR.
5 years experience preferred or education equivalent with focus on mental health and/ substance use disorders.
AZ Credentialed (having successfully completed and passed Arizona's recognized competency exam for Peer Recovery Support Specialist.
