Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months.
- Project experience includes design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater systems, treatment plants, and pump/lift stations for municipal clients' districts and agencies.
- Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful track record of delivering various engineering projects to the expectations of the client.
- Extensive knowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations and force mains
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver on time and within budget.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written skills
- Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, municipal utility districts, public agency officials and community leaders.
- Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionals.
- Actively involved in professional associations and civic organizations
Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for providing all aspects of engineering for water/wastewater utility projects for public, private and municipal utility district clients.
- Prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreements.
- Lead and oversee design and technical aspects of the team(s) projects including detailed engineering design and calculations, report writing, permitting, and presentations to clients.
- Write responses to client RFQs and Solicitations
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leaders.
- Coordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules
- Participate in the development of company design and production standards.
- Prepare of reports and bond applications for municipal utility districts
- Attend monthly board meetings for municipal utility districts.
- Direct and manage the implementation of a project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
- Oversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budget.
- Participate in professional associations and civic organizations within the community.
