We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic AP Physics Tutor to join our team and provide high-quality, in-person tutoring to high school students preparing for the AP Physics exam. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physics, experience with the AP Physics curriculum, and a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions for AP Physics students.
- Develop personalized lesson plans and practice materials to address individual student needs.
- Explain complex physics concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Assist students with homework, lab work, and preparation for the AP Physics exam.
- Track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the AP Physics curriculum and exam requirements.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate students' needs, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the AP Physics curriculum (AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and/or AP Physics C).
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with high school students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, dedication, and a genuine interest in student success.
- Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to students' homes or designated tutoring locations.
Preferred Skills
- Teaching certification or credential in Physics or Secondary Education.
- Familiarity with different learning styles and strategies to address diverse student needs.
- Experience using educational technology and online resources to enhance learning.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 7 per week
