Position Summary: The Finance Business Analyst is responsible for working with the Controller and overseeing the financial operations of the school, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the school's mission and goals. This role includes managing budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Controller and other administrative staff
- Monitor and report on the school's financial performance, identifying and addressing variances
- Oversee cash flow management to ensure financial stability and solvency
- Accounting and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to the President, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders
- Manage the annual audit process and ensure timely completion of audit requirements
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard the school's assets and ensure financial integrity
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations
- Monitor and manage risk, including insurance coverage and contract management
- Tuition and Fees Management:
- Oversee the billing and collection of tuition and fees, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Work with families to address tuition payment issues and develop payment plans as needed
- Coordinate financial aid and scholarship programs in collaboration with the admissions office
- Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Supervise the processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits
- Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support decision-making and long-term planning
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the President and Board of Trustees on financial planning and capital projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in financial management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- FACTS school information system knowledge is preferred
- QuickBooks knowledge is preferred
- Google Suite knowledge is preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend work as required
- Office environment within a school setting
