FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
- Associate’s degree and Journeyman certification in related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience that qualifies the person to perform responsibilities and duties of this position is required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Candidates must have 5 years of industrial machinery experience and have completed their journeyman certification in an industrial environment. Required protective equipment, clothing and necessary tools will be provided by the company.
REQUIRED ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and repair techniques.
- Knowledge of various welding equipment.
- Must have training and/or certification in forklift operation or become trained/certified prior to performing forklift responsibilities.
- Knowledge of material handling concepts, robotics, and CNC.
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Understand the functions of electrical and electro-mechanical items such as sensors, relays, limit switches, flow switches and valves.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose problems and perform minor/major servicing and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, manufacturing control systems for robots, and CNC machines.
- Perform machine rigging and forklift operations.
- Consult with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) representatives and repair departments as necessary when initial diagnosis and repair procedures fail.
- Assist with instructional and technical projects.
- Design, build, and install items for customizing in-house equipment, i.e., CNC and robots.
- Must keep accurate documentation (drawings and written) of repairs.
- Trouble shooting and preventative maintenance of motors
- Interpret electrical schematics and PLC programs.
- Adhere to safety procedures such as Lock -Out /Tag -Out.
- Must be able to use computer systems proficiently.
Physical Standards and Special Job Features: Lifting not to exceed 40 lbs. required. May need to work on equipment from ladders. Must be able to maneuver among machinery set up in the labs and climb over and under large equipment in process of doing repairs.
