Job Description
Purpose: To build customer relationships with existing customer base while seeking out new business opportunities through prospecting and cold calling within an assigned territory. Activities include, but are not limited to: sale of Planned Maintenance (P.M.) agreements, parts, and service repairs. Provide customer service, solutions, and technical support where applicable. Consistently exhibit dealership’s core values while representing Power Machinery Center to the highest extent.
Responsibilities:
- Provide value to customers and cultivate positive relationships by selling parts and service solutions that meet their specific needs. Ongoing support of all dealership product lines.
- Market all parts and service promotions of the dealership to increase customer participation and achieve desired goals.
- Look for opportunities to grow territory sales through increased business with existing customers, new customers, and owners of competitive brands.
- Promptly follow up with all customers and provide support and/or solutions to help grow dealership.
- Complete call reports for each customer visit, update contact management database.
- Communicate customer issues to the appropriate department manager at the location when needed
- Deliver parts to customer during regular customer visits when appropriate
- Prepare weekly and monthly review of overall sales numbers, as well as ongoing new business opportunities in the pipeline
- Interact in a positive and respectful manner with customers and fellow employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- High School Diploma/GED/Associates Degree and 3+ year experience in sales, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Basic knowledge of material handling equipment, and dealership operations is preferred
- Must be a self-starter that independently maintains a high level of motivation with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal communication skills, and ability to build and maintain rapport with key accounts
- Understanding of financial management
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Ability to use a forklift/skid loader
Physical, Mental and Other Requirements:
- Frequent bending and stooping
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Climbing/using ladders
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required
