Position Summary:
The Accountant plays a crucial role in managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. They are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to support decision-making within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries for routine transactions, accruals, and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies as necessary.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Participate in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Assist in the analysis of financial data, identifying trends and variances.
- Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods.
- Preparing all inventory-related journal entries at month end.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Assisting the Controller as needed.
- Participate in the implementation of new accounting systems or software.
- Contribute to streamlining accounting processes and enhancing controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in accounting or finance roles.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
