Purpose: CMA is looking for an individual that will be an integral part of our specialist team and support for our students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the education of children, embrace diversity, collaborate with other members of the educational team and enjoy being a part of a caring group of people who love and strive to do what’s best for our students. This position is based on the school year (10 months).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education
- Active Intervention Specialist License
- Working knowledge of Montessori philosophy preferred, but not necessary
- Work with PK-6th grade students
- 3 or more years working with students diagnosed with learning disabilities preferred, but not necessarily
- Must have knowledge of Compliance documentation, forms, reporting, testing & deadlines for IEP’s, ETR’s
- Write ETR’s & IEP’s. Gather information, make specific measurable IEP goals and make changes when necessary
- Work with students based on IEP’s Specifically Defined Services and learning goals.
- Make recommendations to teachers on ways to best meet the needs of students
- Develop behavior plans for students whose behavior interferes with theirs or others’ learning and monitor progress
- Assist teachers when approached about students who need intervention but are not identified for special education services
- Assist and guide teachers to collect data when going through ETR evaluations
- Maintain and update school Special Education online files
- Work with multiple school districts and lead team meetings if district requests
- Maintain Special Education Files paper and online
- Write special education progress reports based on IEP goals in consultation with classroom teacher and other specialist & monitor goals and update the progress

- Special education: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Intervention Specialist License (Required)
