Role Overview: The purpose of this position is to perform registrar duties with accuracy. This is to be accomplished in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
Required Experience: 1-year working in healthcare related field preferred

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Listed below are major duties and responsibilities of the Registrar. The person hired for this position is delegated the authority, responsibility and accountability to carry out his/her assigned duties. Even though the job description is broad, every effort has been made to make it as complete as possible. However, it must be emphasized that this position may be required to perform other duties and activities.
- Greet customer in polite, prompt, helpful manner utilizing excellent customer service skills.
- Anticipate and provide assistance to accommodate patient’s having difficulty ambulating and completing forms etc.
- Provide customer service by responding to routine requests for information/service and or direct patients’/visitors to appropriate locations.
- Review mammography history with the patient, either verbally or using the printed history sheet.
- Obtain all necessary information needed to complete the registration process; i.e. Patient signature, insurance card, photo ID and order (if needed); scan all information into EPIC. Accurately complete the registration process and place appropriate patient information in time sequence for the technologist to retrieve.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of the requirements for; valid orders, insurance cards and Release of Information.
- Revise necessary information in computer systems and e-load correct insurance information.
- Contact patients to make arrangement for patient to return for additional view imaging.
- Help answer office phones utilizing good customer service skills and direct calls in a friendly appropriately manner.
- Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner.
- Schedule patient appointments as needed according to the current policy and procedure.
- Schedule and register same day add on patients.
- Request exam orders from physicians using paper orders or EPIC when required.
- Track mammography and DEXA exam charts into the office utilizing the mammography tracking system.
- Sort incoming mail for the office.
- Completes work ques as assigned
- Attend mandatory in-service’s
- Cooperate and uphold the policies and procedures of Community Imaging Associates, LLC and Radiology of Indiana, P.C.
- Comply with all HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other related duties as may become necessary or as instructed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of business office procedures
- Knowledge of Medical terminology
- Able to type 45 wpm
- Exhibit good customer service skills
- Able to sit for long periods of time
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment
- Hearing must be within normal range for telephone contacts.
- Ability to navigate computer systems quickly and efficiently.
- Exhibits strong customer service skills.
