POSITION SUMMARY: Maintain a pleasant, professional and courteous beverage service; including food service to all patrons in accordance with established procedures. Handle all liquor, wine and beer control in working area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Know your work schedule and follow it with a high degree of reliability.

2. Interact with guests, clients, vendors, and co-workers in a professional and customer service oriented manner.

3. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.

4. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.

5. Perform your job according to standard operating procedures.

6. Read, understand and follow all policies, procedures and practices as stated in the Employee Handbook.

7. Implement resort safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following OSHA Hazcom program and safe lifting techniques.

8. Utilize protective equipment, when applicable.

9. Promptly report accidents, injuries, property damage or loss to supervisor.

10. Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to supervisor.

11. Keep accurate communication flowing freely among all hotel departments.

12. Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.

13. Maintain professional, amicable relationships with all resort departments, managers, and staff, as well as vendors, and community and professional contacts.

14. Promote excellent guest service throughout the resort by demonstrating friendly, courteous and helpful attitudes toward all guests.

15. Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.

16. Train and supervise other employees as directed by management.

17. Continue to learn and grow in your position.

18. Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.

19. Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.

20. Arrange for reasonable accommodations for person(s) with disabilities.

21. Assist person(s) with a disability.

22. Place daily or weekly beverage orders and maintain inventory.

23. Assists in the completion of revenue reports, production reports and other reports as needed.

as they apply to the resort, guests and employees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Follow established procedures for carrying liquors, wines, fruits, juices, general bar and service supplies from storeroom to bar and wine storage area.
Take orders and promote the sale of beverages listed on menus, but not limited to the menus; i.e. resort promotions and food items.
Have complete knowledge of all drinks in recipe book. Mix and serve all drinks for patrons and service staff including house-featured drinks using standard recipes.
Stock all glassware, napkins, stir sticks, straws, etc. at bar and service stations.
Maintain relevant knowledge of alcoholic beverages including drinks and liquor brand designations (house, call, premium, cordial, specialty, etc.), types of specialty drinks, domestic versus import beers, appropriate glassware and garnishes, etc.
Prepare all fruit garnishes for beverages when necessary.
Maintain an organized, safe and clean bar area as well as related service areas.
Complete opening and closing checklist duties daily.
Provide efficient, timely service consistent with established standards of courtesy and professionalism.
Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant cash register procedures as instructed by managers. Consistent use of cash register with a minimum of errors. Consistent adherence to guest check procedures as instructed.
Observe health code practices.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION: High School education or G.E.D. preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 1 year bartending experience preferred. Must have thorough knowledge of beers, wines, mixed drinks, liquor brand identification and service standards.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Able to read and follow both written and verbal communication, in English.
Able to communicate effectively via telephone and in person and to maintain good interpersonal relations with patrons, guests and co-workers.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately.
Able to handle the stress of interacting with public and co-workers.
Must be able to push, pull and lift up to fifty (50) pounds with or without an accommodation.
Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and reach.
Must be able to remain flexible in order to ensure guest needs are addressed.
Must be able to perform functions such as sweeping, scrubbing, mopping and stocking using repetitive motion of the arms and upper body.
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time with little to no sitting.
Must possess mobility to move around the resort.
Ability to exercise independent judgment with regard to responding to patrons and guest requests, conversing with guests, and determining when a guest has had enough to drink.
Ability to monitor supplies.
Ability to utilize broom, dustpan, mop, bucket and cleaning rag.
Ability to wipe surface areas clean and to clean equipment.
Ability to remain at workstation and to move about within workstation.
Prepare drinks for patrons, guests and service personnel following established procedures.
Practice safety standards and report all unsafe conditions to the proper person.
Keep work area well organized, well stocked and clean.
Responsible for breakdown of bar and storage of liquor bottles and wine.
Breakdown and refrigerate all garnishes and perishables.
Responsible for cleaning bar, stainless steel, sinks, etc.
Empty ice bins and buckets at end of shift.
Responsible for daily and weekly clean up.
Know and obey all local liquor laws.
Display a friendly “team player” attitude.
