Full Job Description

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.

Job Purpose:

The Inventory Control Clerk increases company profitability by assuring inventory accuracy. The Inventory Control Clerk works effectively in a team environment with warehouse, sales and supply chain personnel.

Responsibilities:

individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Complete cycle counts in a timely and accurate manner;
Reconcile inventory discrepancy’s;
Work with MRC purchasing for authorization to return non-conforming materials;
File defective goods claims with MRC Rep;
Maintain the IR (irregular goods) inventory report;
Maintain daily inventory reports (Dock to Stock, Procurement Match, etc.);
Monitor returned goods in the warehouse / RDC that have not yet been processed;
Establish working rapport with local management, corporate employees, and other branch personnel using proper phone etiquette and other effective interpersonal skills;
Promote a safe workplace by visibly participating, encouraging and considering safety in every aspect of daily activity;
Assure compliance with company business processes;
Adhere to MRC ethics policy and holds others accountable for behavior that is consistent with MRC ethical standards Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job;

Education, Experience, & Ability Requirements:

Any combination of requirements which provide knowledge & abilities necessary to perform Essential Duties & Responsibilities will be considered

High School Diploma or a GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work;
One year experience in a warehouse environment involving parts distribution, receiving and shipping
Strong PC skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access, and familiarity with Word, PowerPoint and outlook;
Knowledge of or ability to learn MRC warehouse business processes and software;
Knowledge of operating standard office equipment;
Strong Knowledge of MRC products;
Knowledge of inventory processes;
Basic math skills;
Good reading skills;
Ability to regularly lift, move or carry object/materials weighting up to 50 pounds;
Ability to wear personal protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection. Hard hats;
Ability to travel to/from meeting locations, training and related events;

Additional Qualifications:

Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status;
Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others; to understand and interpret safety instructions; and to respond to inquiries;
Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
